AORFC 3 vs 1 DEEPDALE DYNAMOS

Ashton cruised to a 3 vs 1 victory at home to Deepdale Dynamos in a game which the Ribblers dominated for large periods.
Ben Grimshaw was on hand to provide all 3 goals and had he not been so hungover could probably have had another 3.
Ashton calved out numerous chances in the first half most notably from Tom Bonnick who some how saw his header from a superbly worked move down the right saved by the keeper. Matt Wiggins and Michael Robinson both saw good opportunities narrowly missed.
Ben did break the deadlock late in to the half and the lads were unlucky to come in with just the 1 goal separating the teams.
Deepdale's only real effort on target was the one that drew them level. A deep cross from a set piece evaded Chris King in the goal and dropped into the far left corner.
Ashton knew that they deserved all 3 points and pressed on to regain the lead. Ben Grimshaw was set free again from a nice passing move and coolly slotted in to but the Red back in charge.
Tom Bonnick had a goal disallowed after he was adjudged to have handled the ball before finishing well.
Ashton searched for a 3rd to kill the game off and Grimshaw was in the right place at the right time to knock in his hat-trick and seal all the points for Ashton.
A good performance from the entire team and certainly a sign of good things to come. The squad is looking strong with good competition for places in all areas. New signing Adam Ward made his debut and will now provide quality competition in defence and the wide positions in midfield.
Ashton have now won 3 league games in a row and will look to leap above Warton Typhoons in the league with a fourth victory when they meet next Sunday in what is sure to be a good quality game.
